With the overabundance of tours available these days it can be a real challenge to find a trip that suits your needs the best – But that’s where Topdeck’s new trip quiz can help.
To help easily navigate your way through the 270+ tours Topdeck Travel offers, you can now answer a few questions and (hopefully) fast-track your way to a trip that suits you best. Well, that’s what Topdeck claims it can do.
So does it work? Well, I put it to the test.
Take the Topdeck trip quiz and see if it delivers for you.
There are five questions in this Topdeck trip quiz, and the first gives you the option to narrow down your tour options, or you can get a bunch of random trip suggestions by using the “surprise me” option.
The surprise me feature seems utterly pointless to me in this quiz – after all, it’s sole purpose is to deliver a helpful list of options based on your travel needs and interests.
I selected to start the quiz.
Here you are presented with four options designed to narrow down the Topdeck trips available to you depending on how long you can get away.
I went for the “up to two weeks and keen to make the most of it” option because it’s a nice length of time to be away. I’m also self-employed, hence why I didn’t select the “under a week – my boss is an asshole” option ๐
Another four options in this step which all sound pretty good to me tbh – albeit a little similar, but choose wisely as your decision here will affect your choices in the next step.
For example, if you select “I don’t care as long as I’m having a sick time” and move to the next question, then you have all options available, but when “I’m here for a good time not a long time” is selected, then “the great outdoors” in question four is voided.
There are other combinations of this too, so test and see what you get. I went with “I’m here for a good time not a long time” ๐โโ๏ธ
Question four is all about working out if you want to go island hopping around Croatia, Skiing in Switzerland, road-trippin’ in the USA or if you want to immerse yourself in the Japanese culture.
I selected the “sun-bleached” option here.
And last but not least is, of course, when would you like to go; and because I wanted a sun-bleached holiday, I’ve gone for the “June to August” option to coincide with the European summer.
Now all you’ve got to do it hit the submit button and see if Topdeck actually can fast-track your way to a trip that suits you best as they so claim.
GO! ๐
BOOM! As if like magic, 41 Topdeck trips have been found. Let’s take a look…
Well, the tours do meet the criteria I selected, and they are the kind of trips I would be interested in booking. So you know what? I’m rather impressed by this.
Nice work Topdeck ๐
While this is a bit of fun and helpful, it’s certainly not a new tool travel operators are using. Other brands such as Busabout, Contiki and Sail Croatia also use a similar process to build a tour or find your ideal trip – so check them out too if you’re still working out which to travel with.
