Mumbai, Ajanta & Ellora Caves Tour

Five days moving between Mumbai and Aurangabad to take in some of Western India's most significant rock-cut architecture. You start in Mumbai, with a boat trip out to the Elephanta Caves, then fly to Aurangabad as your base for exploring Ellora and Ajanta.

Ellora's temples are carved straight into the rock and represent Hindu, Buddhist and Jain traditions side by side, while Ajanta's caves, dating back to the 2nd century BCE, hold some of India's best-preserved Buddhist paintings and sculpture. Aurangabad itself adds a couple of more recent landmarks — the Bibi Ka Maqbara tomb and the Panchakki water mill.

This is a private, fully guided trip, so it suits families or small groups who want a set itinerary without joining strangers.
