About this trip
A day trip out of Las Vegas into Death Valley, one of the starkest and most extreme landscapes in the country. You'll get a guided run through the national park's key sights, with plenty of stops for photos and a packed lunch along the way.
The route takes in Dante's View and Zabriskie Point, the Artist's Palette scenic drive, and Badwater Basin, 280 feet below sea level and the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. You'll walk out onto the salt flats there before heading back through the Mojave Desert in time for the evening.
It's an easy, fully guided day out with hotel pickup from the Strip area, small groups, and an expert guide giving live commentary in English (with an app for other languages).
What you'll do
- Take in the views at Dante's View and Zabriskie Point
- Drive the scenic Artist's Palette
- Walk the salt flats at Badwater Basin, 280 feet below sea level
- Stop at the Devil's Golf Course and Furnace Creek visitor center
- Round-trip transport in a modern SUV or mini bus with hotel pickup
- Long day — departs Las Vegas around 8am, back by roughly 6pm
- Easy pace with lots of photo stops rather than hiking or exertion
- Small groups, max 14 people
Worth it if you want a genuinely knowledgeable guide who'll make Death Valley feel unhurried and personal. Think twice if you need flexibility on timing or prefer larger group dynamics.
- Guides consistently go above and beyond: setting up tents, preparing food, sharing historical stories and local legends.
- Two-hour drive from Vegas with quality commentary and stops keeps it engaging; 20-30 minutes per site avoids feeling rushed.
- Included lunch is decent, plenty of water provided, and small group size means personalized attention and flexible routing.
- Tour depends heavily on guide quality; no mention of what happens if your assigned guide is average rather than exceptional.
