About this trip
A fourteen-day route through the Balkans, starting in Split and finishing in Athens or Corfu, with a dedicated tour leader and car for a small group rather than a big coach party.
The route strings together seven countries and a run of UNESCO sites, from the old bridge at Mostar to the Bay of Kotor, Decani Monastery, Lake Ohrid, Berat, Gjirokaster and the rock towers of Meteora. It is as much about the road between places as the places themselves.
Expect a mix of walled old towns, mountain scenery and Mediterranean coastline, with the pace of a guided trip that has already worked out the logistics of crossing several borders.
