About this trip
This nine-day trip covers three very different faces of Turkey: the layered history of Istanbul, ancient sites on the West Coast, and the otherworldly landscapes of Cappadocia.
You travel between regions by domestic flight, staying in high-class hotels along the way, with a small group and airport transfers taken care of throughout.
It's a moderate-paced, partially guided trip, well suited to families or anyone wanting a structured but not overly rigid introduction to the country.
What you'll do
- Explore Istanbul's historic sites at the start of the trip
- Fly to Turkey's West Coast to visit historic sites there
- Travel onward to Cappadocia to see its landscapes
- Stay in high-class hotel accommodation throughout
- Small-group travel with airport transfers included
- Partially guided — expect a mix of led activities and free time
- Domestic flights are used to cover the distance between regions, so travel days involve airports as well as roads
- Moderate pace and family-friendly style, not a fast-paced backpacker trip
