About this trip
Four days, two of Turkey's most striking landscapes: the old city of Istanbul and the volcanic valleys of Cappadocia. It's a fast, well-organised loop that covers a lot without leaving you to sort logistics.
You get a full day working through Istanbul's major sights, then two days in Cappadocia exploring its cave churches, underground cities, and the option to see the valleys from a hot air balloon at sunrise. Domestic flights and a stay in a cave hotel are built in.
What you'll do
- See Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar in Istanbul
- Explore the Goreme Open Air Museum
- Descend into the underground city of Derinkuyu
- Optional hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia's valleys
- Stay in a cave hotel in Cappadocia
- Short and fast-paced — one day in Istanbul, two in Cappadocia, with a domestic flight between them
- Suits those who want a taster of both regions rather than deep time in either
- Partially guided, so some sightseeing is on your own
