About this trip
This is a private four-day journey overland from Fes to Marrakech, crossing Morocco's interior rather than sticking to one base. Expect long, scenic drives broken up by some of the country's best-known landscapes.
The route takes you into the Sahara at Merzouga for a night under the stars, then back west through gorges and mountains to Marrakech. It suits travellers who want a proper geographic sweep of Morocco without joining a fixed group.
What you'll do
- Ride a camel into the dunes of Merzouga at sunset
- Sleep in a desert camp under the stars
- Walk through the Todra Gorges
- Visit the kasbah at Ait Ben Haddou
- Cross the Atlas Mountains between Marrakech and the desert
- Private tour, so timings and stops can be adjusted to your pace
- Significant driving each day given the distances covered
- One night is spent camping in the desert rather than a hotel
