About this trip
Eleven days across England and Scotland, taking in castles, cathedral cities and a fair bit of walking between them. Expect a mix of well-known stops and time to just wander streets that have barely changed in centuries.
You'll move through Windsor, Oxford, York and Bath before heading further afield to Liverpool, Bristol and up into Scotland, finishing back in London. It's a broad sweep of Britain rather than a deep dive into any one place.
This is a partially guided trip, so some days you'll have a guide showing you around and others you're free to explore on your own terms.
What you'll do
- Explore Windsor and its castle
- Wander the historic streets of Oxford, York and Bath
- Walk the city streets of Liverpool and Bristol
- Head north to take in Scotland's landscapes
- Finish the trip in London
- Easy pace, but you'll want comfortable walking shoes for the amount of ground covered on foot
- Partially guided — some days led, some left free for you to explore
- Private rooms throughout, so no dorm-sharing
Worth it if you value excellent guides and seeing vast landscapes quickly. Think twice if you prefer flexibility and dislike surprise paid extras.
- Tour guides (Remi, Megs, Ellie, Tarryn) consistently exceptional: knowledgeable, engaging, personally attentive to group dynamics and individual needs.
- Itinerary balances cities, countryside and Scottish Highlands brilliantly, covering enormous ground without feeling rushed for most travellers.
- Last-minute paid activity additions frequent; skipping them leaves you idle for hours while others tour paid attractions.
- Accommodation and meals variable in quality; some good, some average, so manage expectations on creature comforts.
