Three Cultures

Eight days through northern Mexico, climbing from sea level to over 2400 metres through the Sierra Tarahumara. The centrepiece is a ride on the Chepe Express, one of the world's great train journeys, cutting through the Copper Canyon with views over its rock walls and forested slopes.

Beyond the scenery, this is a trip about people. You get close to the Yoreme-Mayo and Tarahumara Indigenous cultures and spend time learning about the Mennonite communities who settled in the region, seeing how these different traditions sit side by side.

The journey also takes in Basaseachi, Mexico's second-highest waterfall, and colonial towns that round out the picture of Mexico beyond the canyon.
