About this trip
Seven days across Saudi Arabia, moving from the modern capital through desert archaeology to the Red Sea coast, with a small escorted group throughout.
You start in Riyadh's old forts and towers, take the train north to Ha'il, then head into the Nefud desert to reach Al Ula and the ancient tombs of Hegra. From there it's on to Medina and finally Jeddah for the coast.
Accommodation is 3-star throughout, and the pace is steady rather than slow, with a new city or region roughly every day or two.

Worth it if you want genuine Saudi insights with strong local guides and smooth organisation. Think twice if you need vegetarian options or prefer train travel over long drives.
- Tour managers Nabil Zaky and Richard Ramos went above and beyond—one accompanied an injured traveller to hospital and throughout the trip.
- Local guides like Naif, Rahim, and the Medina guide were consistently knowledgeable, professional, and shared genuine cultural insights.
- Medina-Jeddah drive takes six tedious hours by bus; a two-hour fast train exists but isn't used, despite multiple traveller requests.
- Airport pickup coordination can be patchy—one traveller wasn't met as promised and had to ring a local number for help.
