About this trip
Sixteen days that take you overland from Beijing to Tokyo, tracing a route through two very different ancient cultures rather than just flying between highlights.
You'll travel by train and ferry as you go, standing before the Great Wall of China and the Terracotta Warriors before crossing into Japan, where the pace shifts toward quieter, more traditional stops.
Nights split between a ryokan and a shukubo temple lodging give you a proper taste of Japanese hospitality, with a group leader steering you toward less obvious cultural sites along the way.
