Eastern Turkey, Georgia, & Armenia

Twenty days across three countries that don't often make it onto the same itinerary, tracing a route through Eastern Turkey, Georgia, and Armenia that's as much about layers of history as it is about the people still living among them.

You'll move from ancient sites like Gobekli Tepe and the ruined city of Ani to Georgian fortresses and churches, before Armenia takes over with monasteries perched on cliffs and gorges. Along the way there's real contact with local life — shared meals, home cooking, and conversations that fill in what the ruins can't tell you.

It's a slow, grounded way to cover a lot of ground — less about ticking off monuments and more about understanding how these three cultures have shaped, and been shaped by, each other.

What you'll do

• Explore the ancient site of Gobekli Tepe and the Karakus Tumulus in Turkey
• Wander the ruins of the once-mighty city of Ani
• Visit Georgia's Uplistsikhe, the Fortress of God, and Gergeti Trinity Church
• See Republic Square and Khor Virap Monastery in Armenia
• Visit Tatev Monastery, set above the Vorotan Gorge
• Share meals and cooking traditions with local families along the route
