About this trip
This 15-day trip runs from La Paz down through the Andes to Buenos Aires, taking in some of South America's most striking landscapes along the way. You'll cross the high plains and salt flats of Bolivia before the scenery gives way to the desert and, eventually, the city life of Argentina's capital.
It's a trip of contrasts: thin mountain air and vast open salt pans on one end, wine bars and tango halls on the other. Travelling as part of a small group, you get the shared experience of both wild scenery and city energy without having to pick one.
Expect a mix of long overland travel and time to properly take in each place, from the altitude of La Paz to an evening out in Buenos Aires.

Worth it if you value structure, safety and Salt Flats scenery. Think twice if you need thorough city exploration or pristine accommodation.
- G Adventures handles logistics seamlessly, letting you relax while keeping solo travel safe and structured.
- Some hostels fell short on cleanliness and amenities; skip Salta entirely on the itinerary.
- Salt Flats genuinely outstanding; group vibes strong with optional flexibility to explore independently too.
- Long bus days (10 hours) packed in; your guide's quality matters hugely to the experience.
