About this trip
Eight days across the North Island built around getting outside rather than looking at it through a window. You bike through Karangahake Gorge, hike the Tongariro Crossing and travel the Whanganui River by jet boat, with the thermal landscape of the region running through the whole trip.
It's a fully guided small group trip, active most days, with a traditional hangi dinner thrown in as a break from the physical stuff.
A solid option if you want a hands-on first look at New Zealand rather than a bus-window tour.
