About this trip
Twelve days across Turkey, moving from Istanbul's grand mosques and old imperial history through to the mineral terraces of Pamukkale, the valleys of Cappadocia, and the ruins of Ephesus. It's a full sweep of the country's greatest hits, guided throughout, with history and landscape in fairly even measure.
You'll spend time in Bursa too, a quieter historic city that most tours skip, taking in the Grand Mosque and the Green Tomb. Along the way there are stops at craft centres for leather and weaving, giving some insight into traditional trades alongside the sightseeing.
The pace covers a lot of ground, so expect most days built around a landmark or a drive to the next one, with proper time given to the big-name sites rather than rushing through them.
