About this trip
A day trip into Ecuador's Lakes Province, built around Otavalo's market — one of the largest in South America, where Quechua traders in traditional dress fill the streets with textiles, art, livestock and handicrafts.
From there you head to Cotacachi, known for its leather work and its cheap, good restaurants, before a short walk to a waterfall and views out over the Andes from above a volcanic crater.
It's a guided day out with a strong local flavour, suited to families or private groups who want culture and scenery without a long itinerary.
