About this trip
This six-day route links India's classic Golden Triangle with a tiger safari, so you get Mughal monuments, a maharaja's city and a real shot at spotting wildlife in one trip.
You start in Delhi's Old City, move to Agra for the Taj Mahal, then head into Ranthambore National Park before finishing in Jaipur, the Pink City. It's a good mix of history, culture and nature rather than monuments alone.
Expect a fair amount of ground covered in a short time, with each stop bringing something different — Mughal forts, riverside views of the Taj, jeep safaris, and Rajput-era palaces.
What you'll do
- Walk the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk bazaar in Old Delhi
- See the Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb
- Watch the sunrise over the Taj Mahal in Agra
- Go on safari in Ranthambore National Park in search of the Royal Bengal tiger
- Take a guided tour of Jaipur, the Pink City
- Tiger sightings on safari are never guaranteed — this is wildlife spotting, not a zoo visit
- Fast-paced overall, with a new city or major sight most days
- Suits those who want history, culture and wildlife combined rather than a single focus
