About this trip
Sixteen days across Samoa and Fiji, mixing beach time with proper hiking and village life. You start in Samoa, staying in a few beachfront fales where the sea is close enough to send you to sleep, learning about village culture and traditional fire dancing along the way.
Fiji shifts the pace. You move point-to-point through highlands and jungle, hiking between villages with your main bag transferred by vehicle, staying two nights in local multi-share village accommodation, and rafting through volcanic rock interior country most visitors never see.
It's a good fit if you're a confident swimmer and reasonably fit, since there's a lot of snorkelling and several days of proper walking. Accommodation throughout is simple and authentic rather than polished, which suits the places you're visiting.
