About this trip
Four days in Laos taking in both capital and cultural heart, with the express train between them doing a lot of the work — it's a smooth, scenic way to cover ground that used to mean a long, bumpy road trip.
You start in Vientiane, seeing the city's landmarks before boarding the train to Luang Prabang, where the pace slows and the focus turns to temples, rivers and tradition.
