About this trip
Four days across southern Morocco, taking in desert dunes, deep canyon country and one of the region's best-known kasbahs.
You ride a camel into the Sahara for a night among the dunes, watching the sun drop over the sand and waking up to quiet, clean-air mornings.
The route also runs through the Todra Gorge, where sheer canyon walls rise on either side, and Ait Benhaddou, the fortified kasbah familiar from a string of film productions.
What you'll do
- Camel trek into the Sahara dunes
- Camp overnight in the desert and watch the sunset over the sand
- Walk beneath the canyon walls of the Todra Gorge
- Explore the kasbah at Ait Benhaddou, used as a filming location for various productions
- A short, fast-moving route — four days covering desert, gorge and kasbah, so expect a fair amount of driving between stops.
- Fully guided throughout, which suits those who'd rather not plan logistics through the region themselves.
Worth it if you crave dramatic landscapes, camel camping, and stellar guides. Think twice if long driving days drain you.
- Guides (Ali, Ismail, Yussef, Saïd) are genuinely exceptional: knowledgeable, warm, safe drivers, flexible with schedules, go beyond the role.
- Sahara camp nights under stars, camel trekking at sunset, dramatic gorges (Todra, Dades) and Ait Benhaddou kasbah are genuinely unforgettable.
- Multiple days involve substantial driving across mountains and desert; broken by stops, but long hours on winding roads throughout.
- Accommodation quality varies by night and cost tier; described as good value but not luxury—reasonable comfort, friendly staff, decent food.
