About this trip
Four days across Bhutan's main valleys, Paro, Thimphu and Punakha, each with its own architectural character and pace of life. You move through dzongs, monasteries and local markets with a guide, taking in a country that has kept mass tourism firmly at arm's length.
This is a gentle, guided introduction to Bhutanese culture rather than a trekking trip. Expect temple visits, village stops and time in Thimphu, the modern yet still quietly traditional capital.
If you travel in late April or early May you'll likely catch the rhododendron forests in bloom on the drives between towns.
What you'll do
- See the giant Buddha Dordenma statue overlooking Thimphu
- Visit Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan's government and monastic body

- Learn about Buddhist teaching at Tango Buddhist Institute
- Browse the National Museum of Bhutan in Paro
- Easy grade and family-friendly, suited to those wanting culture and sightseeing over hiking
- Four days covers three towns, so you're changing base regularly
- Fully guided throughout, so logistics and route are handled for you
