About this trip
Ten days that split neatly into two halves: the mainland's big historical names first, then island time to slow down and swim. You start in Athens with the Acropolis before working through Corinth, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi.
The second half trades ruins for coastline. Mykonos brings the nightlife and beach clubs, Santorini brings the caldera views and sunsets over the volcanic cliffs.
It's a good fit if you want the classic Greece checklist covered in one go, rather than picking mainland or islands separately.
What you'll do
- Walk the Acropolis and its museum in Athens
- See the ancient theatre at Epidaurus and the ruins of Mycenae
- Visit the archaeological site at Olympia, home of the original Games
- Take in Delphi's ruins and mountain setting
- Experience Mykonos's beaches and nightlife
- Watch the sunset over Santorini's caldera
- Front-loaded with history and site visits before the island time begins
- Covers a lot of ground on the mainland in a few days, so expect a fair amount of travel between stops
- Suits families and mixed groups given the sightseeing and beach balance
