About this trip
An 11-day small-group tour that takes you the length of Ireland, north and south, from Belfast and the Causeway Coast down through Donegal, Galway, Dingle and Kerry to Kinsale. It's a full circuit rather than a single-region trip, so expect a lot of ground covered with a new base most nights.
Along the way you get a mix of coastal walks, cultural stops in cities like Derry and Galway, and a night in a castle. The route follows the Wild Atlantic Way for much of the west coast, taking in the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Killarney National Park.
It's fully guided throughout, with a local guide travelling with the group, and runs with a private room option if you'd rather not share.
What you'll do
- Explore Belfast's history before driving the Causeway Coast
- Hike the Cliffs of Moher and cycle across the Aran Islands
- Walk the walled city of Derry and explore wild Donegal
- Drive Dingle's Slea Head and take in Killarney National Park
- Spend a night in a castle
- Kiss the Blarney Stone near Kinsale
- Moderate pace with an active itinerary — includes hiking and cycling days
- You change location frequently, with little downtime in one place
- Not wheelchair accessible, due to vehicle size and some accommodation without ramps or lifts
Worth it if you want a well-paced, activity-packed Irish intro with genuinely excellent guides. Think twice if you prefer a slower pace or dislike early starts on group tours.
- Guides consistently praised for warmth, humour, and going above and beyond; Cathal mentioned by name in six reviews.
- Good mix of accommodation types (hotels, B&Bs, castle) and activities (hiking, kayaking, biking) keeps first-timers engaged throughout.
- Small group size (14 people) allows you to actually befriend other travellers and get personal attention from your guide.
- Itinerary is quick-paced and covers a lot; described as not over-taxing but keeps you moving throughout each day.
