Atacama desert & Uyuni salt flat - Group Adventure - Bolivia Chile & Argentina

Salta → Calama 10 days Up to 14

About this trip

Ten days across three countries, tracing a route through the high Andes from Argentina into Bolivia's salt flats and Chile's Atacama desert. The landscapes shift constantly — mirror-flat salt pans, coloured lagoons, volcanoes, geysers, and some of the driest terrain on the planet.

Alongside the scenery, there's real contact with Andean culture along the way, from local food to long-standing traditions in the small communities you pass through.

This is a small-group trip, so you'll be sharing the journey with others, and the exact setup depends on numbers — more on that below.

What you'll do

  • Cross the Uyuni Salt Flat, the world's largest salt pan
  • Explore the Altiplano's coloured lagoons and volcanic scenery
  • See geysers and high-altitude desert landscapes
  • Travel through the Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth
  • Learn about Andean culture and try local cuisine
Good to know
  • Groups of 5 or more travel with a dedicated tour leader throughout; groups of 4 or fewer use local guides for excursions only, without a tour leader
  • In smaller groups, you may share transport (6-seat vehicles) with other travellers during the Uyuni Salt Flat section
  • A private room upgrade is available
