Footprints of the Pharaohs

Start & end in Cairo 13 days Up to 10

About this trip

Thirteen days across Egypt, taking in the pyramids, ancient temples, a Nile cruise and a stretch of coast to unwind on. It moves from Cairo's ancient sites down to Aswan and Abu Simbel, then back up to the coast for some downtime.

This is a private, fully guided trip, so it's just your group with a guide throughout, at a moderate pace that suits families or anyone wanting the history explained properly rather than rushed through.

Expect a mix of major monuments, a few days afloat on the Nile watching temples go by, and a beach stop at Ain Sokhna to close things out.

What you'll do

  • Explore the Pyramids of Giza
  • See Tutankhamun's treasures in Cairo
  • Visit Alexandria
  • Cruise the Nile, stopping at temples along the way
  • Visit the temples of Abu Simbel
  • Relax on the white sand beaches of Ain Sokhna
Good to know
  • Private and fully guided, so pacing can flex to suit your group
  • A long trip covering a lot of ground, from Cairo to Aswan and back to the coast
  • Suited to families and those wanting a proper mix of history and beach time
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value knowledgeable guides and smooth logistics. Think twice if you need comfort on long bus journeys or prefer fewer travel days.

  • Guides like Shenouda and Ahmed Sary explained mythology and imagery in detail, making monuments genuinely memorable.
  • Airport coordination and pre-trip communication were reliable; staff responsive to problems and willing to customize.
  • Bus too small with inadequate legroom; luggage unsecured. Eight-hour Aswan–Abu Simbel return bus days left people exhausted.
  • Day trips like Alexandria and Ain al-sukhna beach felt rushed; some itinerary details didn't match what guides delivered.
