About this trip
This 11-day route through Sri Lanka is built around one of the country's great train journeys, tracking through the hill country where tea plantations spread across the slopes and the mountain views open out at every bend.
You finish by road rather than rail, following the South Coast Route back to Colombo, with the drive taking in the tropical scenery of the Deep South and South West along the way.
It suits anyone drawn to landscape over pace — the kind of trip where the journey between places is as much the point as the places themselves.
