About this trip
Sao Miguel is the largest island in the Azores, a green, volcanic landscape shaped by crater lakes, hot springs and a coastline that changes character every few miles. This 4-day trip gives you a proper taste of it without trying to cram in more than the island can comfortably offer.
Expect a mix of nature and downtime, walking through small towns, taking in viewpoints over the volcanic terrain, and soaking in geothermal pools rather than rushing between ticklist sights.
It suits families and groups happy with a relaxed pace, and works well as a Christmas or New Year break given the island's mild winter climate.
