About this trip
This 23-day route runs the length of Vietnam before crossing into Cambodia and finishing in Bangkok, taking in three countries at a decent pace rather than skimming the surface.
You move from Hanoi down to Ha Long Bay, through Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City, then follow the Mekong into Cambodia to spend proper time at Angkor Wat, before ending amid Bangkok's energy.
Two nights are spent with local families in shared, basic homestay accommodation — simple living, but a genuine chance to eat home-cooked food and talk to people rather than just pass through.
