Ultimate South America (With Inca Trail Trek)

Lima → Rio de Janeiro 24 days Up to 50

About this trip

Twenty-four days across Peru, Argentina and Brazil, built around three very different countries and a proper trek in between. You move from Andean valleys to Amazon jungle to the beaches and streets of Rio, with coach travel linking the bigger distances.

The centrepiece is the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, reached by train through the Sacred Valley, but the trip doesn't stop there — there's ziplining in the Amazon, waterfalls, city time and beach days worked in as well.

This is one for people who want a broad first look at South America rather than a slow, single-country trip. Expect a mix of hiking, coach transfers and city stops, with a fully guided group throughout.

What you'll do

  • Trek the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
  • Ride the train through Peru's Sacred Valley
  • Zipline through the Amazon jungle
  • Spend time in Rio de Janeiro
  • See waterfalls along the route
  • Mix of beach time and big city stops
Good to know
  • A moderate trek is included, so some fitness and preparation for the Inca Trail is worth sorting beforehand
  • 24 days covering three countries means a fair amount of coach travel between stops
  • Suits travellers after a wide-ranging overview of South America rather than time settled in one place
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want packed adventures across Peru's highlights with a standout guide. Think twice if you prefer a slower pace or worry guides might not always be as exceptional.

  • Fast-paced itinerary covers genuinely diverse experiences: culture, adventure, and downtime mixed well.
  • Trip manager Clari consistently made travellers feel included, safe, and prioritised throughout the 24 days.
  • Fast pace means you see much in little time; could feel rushed if you prefer lingering in places.
  • Trip quality appears heavily dependent on your assigned guide; Clari set a very high bar.
