About this trip
This short tour packs together the classic Golden Triangle cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with a detour to Ranthambore National Park in search of tigers. It is a private, partially guided trip, so your itinerary has some flexibility and your guide's attention is on you rather than a big group.
In four days you move from Delhi's political and cultural landmarks to the Taj Mahal in Agra, on to the pink-hued streets of Jaipur, and out into Ranthambore for a wildlife safari. It works well as a first taste of India, covering history, culture and nature without needing weeks to do it.
Given the pace, expect early starts and a fair amount of road and rail travel between stops.
What you'll do
- See the Taj Mahal in Agra
- Explore Jaipur, India's first planned city, known as the Pink City
- Take a Jeep or Canter safari through Ranthambore National Park with a naturalist
- Look for tigers in one of India's most tiger-dense reserves
- Visit Delhi's key political and cultural sites
- Four days is a brisk pace for four destinations, so travel time between cities and the park takes up a good chunk of each day
- Private tour with a flexible itinerary, suited to those who want a more personal pace than a large group tour
- Tiger sightings on safari are never guaranteed, even in Ranthambore
Worth it if you want seamless logistics, tiger sightings and quality drivers. Think twice if you're budget-conscious about hidden commission stops and overpriced roadside traps.
- Drivers consistently exceptional: punctual, knowledgeable, helpful with luggage, bringing water daily without fuss.
- Tiger sightings at Ranthambore delivered: one group saw six tigers in one tour, another watched for a full hour.
- Carpet and handloom 'exhibitions' are commission-driven sales stops not listed in itinerary; Highway King Resort massively overcharges soft drinks at 400 rupees versus standard 20-40.
- Early starts and long driving days required, but hotels and recommended restaurants consistently comfortable and affordable.
