About this trip
This private, 10-day trip moves through Cambodia at an easy pace, mixing the country's temples with its harder history and everyday countryside life. It's built for a small group or family travelling together, with guiding for the key sites rather than every single moment.
You start in Phnom Penh facing both sides of Cambodia's story — the Royal Palace and the killing fields — before heading to Battambang for a slower, rural stretch. The trip ends in Siem Reap, where Angkor Wat and its neighbouring temples get the time they deserve, alongside village life on Tonle Sap Lake.
What you'll do
- Visit the Royal Palace and the killing fields in Phnom Penh
- Ride the bamboo train and visit a mountain temple near Battambang
- Explore Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm and quieter temples of the Angkor era
- Take an ox-cart ride and a blessing ceremony from a Buddhist monk in the countryside
- Boat trip to the floating village on Tonle Sap Lake
- Private and partially guided, so pacing can flex to suit your group
- Easy-rated, suited to families and mixed-ability travellers
- Covers both Cambodia's Khmer Rouge history and its temple heritage, so expect a mix of heavier and lighter days
Worth it if you want a well-paced intro to Cambodia with quality hotels and knowledgeable guides. Think twice if you can't handle some genuinely long sightseeing days.
- Tours wrap by 3pm most days, giving real downtime to rest and actually feel like you're on holiday.
- Guides are genuinely knowledgeable and invested in making the experience enjoyable, not just ticking boxes.
- Some days involve very long sightseeing stretches, so pace yourself if you tire easily.
- Five-star accommodation throughout, well-positioned near major attractions and amenities you'll actually use.
