Egypt Treasures (Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Felucca sailing ,black &white desert safari)

Start & end in Cairo 9 days Up to 35

About this trip

Nine days that run from the pyramids of Cairo to the quiet of the Nile and out into open desert. You get Egypt's headline historical sites, a slower stretch sailing between Aswan and Luxor, and a proper detour into the White and Black Deserts.

It's a mix of city, river and sand at a moderate pace, with room for Nubian culture along the way and the kind of stark desert scenery that looks nothing like the temples and tombs earlier in the trip.

What you'll do

  • Explore the pyramids and historical sites of Cairo
  • Sail the Nile between Aswan and Luxor on a traditional felucca
  • Learn about Nubian culture in Aswan
  • Visit temples and tombs around Luxor
  • Drive out to the White and Black Deserts on a desert safari
Good to know
  • Moderate pace, suited to families and groups
  • Covers four distinct regions — Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and the desert
  • Includes a felucca sailing leg on the Nile rather than a cruise ship
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want genuinely excellent guides and iconic Egyptian sites. Think twice if you need comfort camping or worry about long travel days in minibuses.

  • Guides Naser, Ahmed Fawaz, Marwa and Anas were consistently knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond.
  • White Desert camping and Felucca sailing on the Nile were genuinely memorable highlights for most travellers.
  • Desert camping is bare bones, not glamping. Expect basic facilities and long stretches in minibuses between sites.
  • Communication lapses occurred; one group was picked up at 3 AM for a cancelled flight with no prior notice.
