About this trip
Eleven days moving through Guatemala's highlands, jungle and Maya heartland, from colonial Antigua to the ruins of Tikal. It is a private trip run at an easy pace, so there is room to take in each place rather than rush between them.
You start among the cobbled streets of Antigua before climbing Acatenango for its volcano views, then head to the Sunday market at Chichicastenango and the villages ringing Lake Atitlán. Later the trip turns to nature and history: Candelaria's cave systems, the pools at Semuc Champey, the Quetzal Biotope's cloud forest, and the ancient city of Tikal.
With private, partially guided arrangements and a genuinely easy pace, this suits families or anyone wanting to see Guatemala's highlights without a packed schedule.
