About this trip
This trip splits between Manila's street-level energy and the beaches and countryside of Bohol. You start in the capital on foot, working through markets and one of the world's oldest Chinatowns, before flying south for a slower few days by the sea.
In Bohol the focus shifts to island life: old churches, a salt factory, a river cruise, and a face-to-face encounter with tarsiers in their protected habitat. The Chocolate Hills give you the classic Bohol view, and a boat trip out to Pamilacan Island adds a proper snorkelling day among reef and coral.
It's a short trip that covers a lot — a couple of days of city walking followed by a mix of culture, wildlife and beach time, with one base for the final night.
What you'll do
- Walk through Quinta and Quiapo markets and Binondo Chinatown in Manila
- Visit Baclayon Church, dating to 1727, and a traditional salt factory
- Cruise the Loboc River by boat, with the option to try SUP
- See wild tarsiers up close at the Tarsier Conservation Area
- Take in the Chocolate Hills from the viewpoint
- Snorkel and relax on the white sands of Pamilacan Island
- The order of tours can vary day to day, but the overall itinerary stays the same
- The tarsier visit is done in silence — these are easily startled, endangered animals
- A moderate pace overall: city walking early on, then a more relaxed beach and countryside stretch in Bohol
