Mumbai to Indore Ancient Caves & Temples Tour

Nine days tracing a route from Mumbai to Indore that takes in some of central India's most significant heritage sites, from cave temples to old fort towns. It's a guided journey through history and religious life rather than a beach-and-bar trip.

You start in Mumbai, walking Marine Drive and taking the boat out to the Elephanta Caves, then head inland to Nashik and its Trimbakeshwar Temple. From there the route moves through Aurangabad, Burhanpur, Maheshwar and Mandu on the way to Indore, taking in rock-cut caves, old forts and temple towns along the way.

It's a fully guided group tour pitched as easy going, so expect a steady pace with a fair amount of road travel between stops rather than long stays in any one place.
