About this trip
This 11-day trip through Maharashtra traces a route between some of India's most significant Shiva temples and rock-cut cave sites, moving between Mumbai, Nashik and Aurangabad at an easy pace with a guide throughout.
It's built around two of the twelve Jyotirlingas, Trimbakeshwar and Grishneshwar, alongside the Ajanta and Ellora cave complexes, so there's a strong thread of temple architecture and religious history running through the days rather than a scattered sightseeing list.
Group and fully guided, it suits families or anyone who wants the cultural and spiritual context of these sites explained rather than just viewed from the outside.
