About this trip
Ten days across north India, taking in the capital's history, the marble weight of the Taj Mahal, and two of the Himalayas' best-known hill stations. It's a broad sweep — old cities, colonial-era hill towns, mountain air — for anyone who wants the classic circuit without piecing it together themselves.
You'll start in Delhi, a city that's been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC, before heading to Agra for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. From there the pace shifts upward, literally, into Shimla and Manali, former and current favourites of hill-station life.
It's a good fit for families or groups wanting a mix of history and mountains in one trip, with some structure but room to explore each stop.
What you'll do
- Walk through Delhi's old and new city layers
- See the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites
- Explore Shimla, the former summer capital of British India
- Spend time in Manali, a high-altitude Himalayan town
- Covers a lot of ground in 10 days — expect regular travel between cities
- Mix of historic sightseeing and mountain scenery, not a dedicated trekking trip
- Partially guided, so some free time to explore each stop independently
