Fascinating Sri Lanka tour in

Eleven days across Sri Lanka, from ancient cities to hill country to the coast. You start in Negombo and work through Polonnaruwa's ruins and temples, up into the hills around Kandy, then down the coast for a run of beach towns and a look at Galle's old fort.

The middle stretch is the scenic bit: a train ride from Kandy to Ella through tea plantations and mountain views, followed by a slower few days in Ella itself. Then it's beaches and coastal towns the rest of the way — Mirissa, Galle, Ahungala, and finishing in Beruwala.
