About this trip
This 10-day package combines free time in Cape Town with a guided run along the Garden Route to Addo Elephant National Park. You land in Cape Town with an included airport transfer and open days to explore the city or arrange your own activities before the guided section begins.
From there you head out to Cape Point and the Cape Peninsula, down to Cape Agulhas at Africa's southernmost tip, then along the Garden Route through Wilderness, Sedgefield, Jeffreys Bay and Oudtshoorn. The trip builds to a safari in Addo Elephant National Park.
It's a mix of independent city time and a structured overland route, with 9 nights of accommodation and some meals included along the way.
What you'll do
- Free time to explore Cape Town on arrival
- Visit Cape Point and the Cape Peninsula
- Stand at Africa's southernmost tip, Cape Agulhas
- Pass through Garden Route towns including Wilderness, Sedgefield, Jeffreys Bay and Oudtshoorn
- Safari drive in Addo Elephant National Park
- Combines unguided time in Cape Town with a guided Garden Route and Addo section
- 9 nights' accommodation and airport transfers are included, with only some meals covered
Worth it if you want maximum sights and wildlife in 10 days with a genuinely excellent guide. Think twice if van condition matters to you or private rooms feel pricey.
- Guides consistently praised as knowledgeable, passionate, funny and safe; Taariq, Lourens and Uriel stood out repeatedly.
- Van maintenance is dodgy: bald tyres and two flats on one trip, same van used again with visible wear.
- Private rooms cost significantly more; reviewers felt overcharged relative to hostel standard accommodation quality.
- Ten-day package splits into 6 days group tour plus separate activities; some felt the extra 4 days weren't worth the premium cost.
