About this trip
Ten days that combine Egypt's big ancient sites with a proper stretch on the Red Sea coast at the end. You start in Cairo for the pyramids and museums, move onto a Nile cruise between Aswan and Luxor, then finish with two nights by the sea in Hurghada.
The middle of the trip covers the temple sites most people come to Egypt for — Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo, Edfu — done from the deck of a cruise ship rather than rushing between hotels. A sleeping train links Cairo to Aswan, which saves a day of travel.
It's a mix of pace: a few dense sightseeing days in Cairo and along the Nile, then a slower finish on the beach in Hurghada with half board at a 4-star resort.
