Mamma Mia! Best of Italy

Start & end in Rome 10 days Up to 30

About this trip

Ten days across Italy, starting in Rome and finishing in the Venice area, taking in the country's classic mix of ancient ruins, hill towns and coastal scenery.

The route runs from Rome down to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri, then back up through Siena, Assisi and Florence before ending near Venice. It's a full sweep of the country rather than a deep dive into any one region.

This is a partially guided group tour, with private rooms for overnight stays, pitched as an easy-paced, value-focused way to see Italy's main sights rather than an off-the-beaten-track trip.

What you'll do

  • Explore ancient Rome
  • Walk the ruins of Pompeii
  • Take in the coastal towns of Sorrento and Capri
  • Visit the hill towns of Siena and Assisi
  • See Florence's historic centre
  • Finish up in the Venice area
Good to know
  • Expect 3-4 miles of walking most days, sometimes on hilly ground
  • Guide services aren't provided during the Rome stay, and the tour may combine different programs along the way
  • Bring euros for daily extras like water, toilets and optional add-ons such as a Pisa excursion or Venice night walk — cards aren't accepted on the bus
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you love Italian landmarks and can roll with logistical chaos. Think twice if you need seamless organization, included activities, or reliable pickup arrangements.

  • Subcontracting layers mean disorganized transfers, missed pickups, last-minute time changes via email only, and no hotel pickup—you navigate yourself to meeting points.
  • Optional tours advertised in brochure don't exist or are cash-only surprises; Amalfi Coast tour listed but unavailable, Padua listed but never visited.
  • Individual guides—Christina, Andrea, Sabrina, Stefano—were genuinely excellent, knowledgeable, and made the chaos manageable through sheer competence.
  • Hotels variable: Rome and Sorrento strong, but Florence faced tram noise and sirens, Venice hotel far from centre on another island, some tiny bathrooms.
