About this trip
Fifteen days across Peru's full range of landscapes, from coastal desert to Andean peaks, the altiplano and cloud forest. This is a proper journey through the country rather than a single-region trip, with long-haul highlights strung together over the fortnight.
You'll take in the Nazca Lines, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and Colca Canyon, with a night spent on an island homestay on the lake itself. Alongside the big sights there's real contact with Peruvian life, from traditional communities to condors and llamas in the wild.
Guided throughout, this is a trip for people who want to properly understand what they're looking at rather than just tick it off.
What you'll do
- See the Nazca Lines from above
- Explore Machu Picchu
- Spend a night in an island homestay on Lake Titicaca
- Look down into the 3,000m depths of Colca Canyon
- Spot condors in flight over the canyon
- Meet traditional Andean communities along the way
- Covers a lot of ground across very different landscapes, so expect long travel days between highlights
- Serious, culturally focused pace suited to those genuinely interested in history and tradition, not just photo stops
Worth it if you want a genuinely excellent guide-led deep dive across Peru's major sites with comfortable travel. Think twice if you dislike long coach days or need extensive downtime in small towns.
- Guides like Luis, Leo, and Raul are genuinely exceptional—knowledgeable, funny, and tireless on long bus journeys.
- Itinerary covers remarkable range: Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Nazca Lines, Sacred Valley, and diverse landscapes in 15 days.
- Long travel days are genuinely exhausting despite excellent organisation; not a relaxed pace despite comfort of buses.
- Hotels described as 'good to average' and 'ok'—functional and central, not luxury; Aguas Caliente stop felt over-long to one traveller.
