Turkey Classics Tour

Start & end in Istanbul 7 days Up to 20

About this trip

Seven days across Turkey, starting and finishing in Istanbul, taking in the country's historical range in one go — from the battlefields of Gallipoli to Roman ruins, the Aegean coast, the white terraces of Pamukkale and Cappadocia's underground cities.

It's a small group setup (2 to 20 people), run at a comfortable rather than backpacker pace, and covers a lot of ground so expect some longer travel days between stops.

Cappadocia's surreal landscape is the closing stretch, with its cave systems and terrain unlike anywhere else on the route.

What you'll do

  • Walk the battlefields of Gallipoli
  • See Roman ruins along the route
  • Take in the Aegean Coast
  • Visit the mineral terraces of Pamukkale
  • Explore Cappadocia's underground cities and landscape
Good to know
  • Moderate pace — involves walking, stairs and some longer travel days
  • Group size runs from 2 to 20 people, with a private version available for your own group
  • Minimum age of 8
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want iconic Turkish sites with genuinely knowledgeable guides and strong logistical support. Think twice if you're unsteady on feet, heat-sensitive, or expect all extras (flights, balloon photos) to be seamless.

  • Guide timing strategy gets you through major sites before tour buses arrive, almost alone.
  • Guides exceptionally knowledgeable; operator replaces faulty van overnight with new driver, eight hours.
  • Sunrise balloon ride starts 7:30am, not sunrise; extra cost flight back to Istanbul not included despite $2500 base price.
  • Heavy walking on uneven archaeological sites, cave hotel rooms require steady feet and climbing many steps.
