Iceland Complete: Around Iceland in

Start & end in Reykjavik 10 days Up to 12

About this trip

This is a full loop of Iceland's Ring Road plus the Snæfellsnes peninsula, covering the country's whole coastline rather than just the south. You'll travel in a small van with a maximum of 12 people, which keeps things personal and gives you a better view of the landscape than a full-size coach would.

Nine nights are spent at countryside farm accommodations along the route, so you get a real chance to talk to locals, try traditional Icelandic food like lamb and fish, and see Icelandic horses and dogs up close. Breakfast is included throughout, with dinner included on seven of the nights.

It's a moderate-paced sightseeing tour built around geology, culture, and history, with a fully guided structure so you're not working out logistics yourself.

What you'll do

  • Drive the full Ring Road and the Snæfellsnes peninsula
  • Golden Circle sights
  • Waterfalls at Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss and Dettifoss
  • Black sand beach at Reynisfjara
  • Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon
  • Lake Mývatn
Good to know
  • You change accommodation regularly as you loop the country, so this suits people happy to keep moving
  • Stays are at countryside farms rather than hotels, which shapes the feel of the trip
  • Small group size (max 12) in a van rather than a coach
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want comprehensive coverage with a genuinely skilled guide. Think twice if you need flexibility or have mobility concerns.

  • Guide Jens genuinely adapts pace and routes for group needs without rushing through ten days.
  • Seven-person van size hits sweet spot: comfortable, relaxed, sees major sites without feeling crowded.
  • Ten days is tight; one reviewer struggled keeping up, suggesting it's physically demanding throughout.
  • Hotels described as charming and comfortable, food exceptional, but no mention of costs or hidden extras.
