About this trip
Eleven days across Costa Rica that packs in volcanoes, cloud forest, jungle rivers, and Pacific beach towns without ever sitting still for long. It's a hostel-based trip built for travellers who want to be outdoors and active most days, not lounging by a pool.
You'll go from staring into the smoking crater of Poás Volcano to zip-lining above Monteverde's cloud forest, then hike to the waterfall at Rio Celeste before finishing up surfing and unwinding on the Nicoya Peninsula.
It's a full-on mix of nature, adrenaline, and beach downtime, guided throughout, with plenty of chances to swap hiking boots for a surfboard.

- Guide quality makes or breaks it; Jorge and Natalie were specifically praised for organisation and making the trip memorable.
- Genuine solo traveller confidence builder; multiple reviewers came alone, felt safe, and left wanting to travel again.
- Activities are packed and varied; reviewers mention craters, rainforests, surfing and meeting people consistently across all feedback.
- No reviews mention costs, food quality, accommodation standards or whether early starts and long travel days are involved.
