Exploring the Amalfi Coast

Start & end in Naples 7 days Up to 16

About this trip

Seven days through Naples, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, with plenty of room to wander on your own alongside the guided parts. This is history and coastline in equal measure — Pompeii's ruins one day, cliffside drives and small towns the next.

You'll start and finish in Naples, using it as a base to fan out along the coast. Expect a fair bit of free time built in, so you can chase down the pizza, pasta and sfogliatelle at your own pace rather than someone else's schedule.

What you'll do

  • Guided tour of Pompeii beneath Mt Vesuvius
  • Taste limoncello in Sorrento
  • Drive the Amalfi coastline through small clifftop towns
  • Free time in Naples to explore independently
  • Sample Naples' pizza, pasta and sfogliatelle
Good to know
  • Fully guided with a moderate pace and private rooms throughout
  • Good fit if you want structured sightseeing balanced with unscheduled time to explore on your own
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want the Amalfi Coast's beauty and a genuinely passionate guide. Think twice if you need reliable logistics and comfortable first-night accommodation.

  • Guide Silvia consistently praised across reviews for deep local knowledge and infectious passion for Italy.
  • Naples hotel frequently described as run-down, in rough area with police sirens; possibly shared rooms without clear disclosure.
  • Promised 'free' e-sim card didn't work; shuttle driver no-showed, requiring travellers to arrange alternative transport.
  • Significant free time to explore independently; not an activity-packed itinerary despite tour name.
