About this trip
This 22-day expedition takes you through three of the most remote wildlife strongholds on the planet: the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and Antarctica itself. It's a slow build through open ocean and dramatic landscapes, with each stop bringing you closer to the wildlife and history that drew early polar explorers south.
Expect long sea days between landings, with Zodiac boats used to get you ashore or close to whales and seals in the water. On land you'll walk among huge penguin colonies, visit the rusting remains of old whaling stations, and stand at Ernest Shackleton's grave on South Georgia.
Onboard, daily lectures from the expedition team fill in the history and biology behind what you're seeing, so by the time you reach Antarctica's icebergs and glaciers you understand a bit more about the place you're looking at.
