About this trip
Twenty-eight days across India, moving from the marble of the Taj Mahal in the north down to the backwaters and spice hills of the south. It's built for travellers who want one trip to give them a real sense of the country's range, rather than just one region.
You'll sail the Ganges at Varanasi, walk through the carved stepwells of Abhaneri, then fly south to track tigers and wander through cooler, quieter hill stations. Cities, villages, temples and rivers all feature, with a mix of guided activities and free time to explore on your own.
It's a full itinerary rather than a slow meander, but the pace is kept easy and you'll have your own room throughout.

Worth it if you want genuine cultural immersion with excellent guides who adapt to chaos. Think twice if you need consistently comfortable accommodation.
- Guides (Shailendra, Selva, Jai, Prem) were organised, knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely responsive to group interests.
- Small group size (15 people) created intimate experience; guides handled unexpected events like flooding with real problem-solving.
- Accommodation standards noticeably lower than other G Adventures trips; prepare for basic comfort levels.
- Weather unpredictable (temperature swings, heat waves); pack layers and flexibility, not just fixed expectations.
