Montenegro Sailing - Dubrovnik to Dubrovnik

Start & end in Dubrovnik 8 days Up to 10

About this trip

Eight days sailing the Adriatic coast between Croatia and Montenegro, starting and finishing in Dubrovnik. You move south along the Dalmatian coast by boat, with the pace set by swimming stops, harbour towns and stretches of open water.

Along the way you take in a small fishing village, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and some of the coast's better beaches for swimming or snorkelling. There's also a stop in Budva, known for its nightlife, if you want a livelier night out.

What you'll do

  • Sail the Dalmatian coast from Dubrovnik into Montenegro
  • Visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Explore a small fishing village
  • Swim or snorkel from some of the region's best beaches
  • Go out in Budva, the region's nightlife hub
Good to know
  • Life aboard a sailboat with a private room, so space and privacy are limited compared to land-based trips
  • Days are shaped by sailing and weather, with swimming and beach stops built in
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want relaxed coastal exploration with local culture. Think twice if you're a keen sailor expecting actual sailing.

  • Expect motoring, not sailing. Multiple reviewers noted minimal actual sailing due to winds or just motoring throughout.
  • Bunk beds are genuinely cramped. One reviewer described sleeping quarters as coffin-like, worth knowing before booking.
  • Skipper quality is standout. Experienced, young captain who handles boat, weather, and group dynamics excellently.
  • Authentic local culture access and less touristy spots. Not just postcard towns; proper immersion with genuine experiences.
