Best of North India with Mumbai

New Delhi → Mumbai 10 days Up to 10

About this trip

Ten days across North India and Mumbai, taking in the country's biggest hitters alongside two cities that show very different sides of it. You move from Delhi's old streets to Rajasthan's forts, the Taj Mahal at Agra, the ghats of Varanasi, and finish in Mumbai.

It's a heritage and culture-heavy route with a spiritual thread running through it, from Delhi's mosques and monuments to a dawn boat ride during the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi. Mumbai adds a contrast at the end, with its own history out on Elephanta Island.

This is a private, partially guided tour, so you have your own vehicle and guides for the sightseeing days but some flexibility built in. It's pitched as easy-paced and works well for families.

What you'll do

  • Guided tour of Delhi taking in Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Red Fort, Rajghat, Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar
  • See the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
  • Explore Jaipur's Amer Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and local bazaars, with an elephant ride
  • Wander the 16th-century ruins of Fatehpur Sikri, including Buland Darwaza and Panch Mahal
  • Take a boat out for the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi
  • Visit the 5th-century Elephanta rock caves off Mumbai
Good to know
  • Private tour with partially guided sightseeing, so you get your own vehicle and guide rather than a fixed group
  • Covers five very different cities in 10 days, so expect a fair amount of moving around
  • Rated easy and suited to families
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want well-organized spiritual and cultural experiences with reliable drivers. Think twice if you need reliable accommodation standards and expect seamless handovers between tour segments.

  • Drivers consistently praised as professional, safe, informative; several named specifically for going above expectations.
  • Hotel quality wildly inconsistent: dirty linen, grime in bathrooms, cold showers, mismatches between star-rating and reality.
  • Monument entry requires cash only (not credit card), and optional factory tours aggressively upsold despite repeated refusals.
  • Company responsive when escalated (TourRadar intervention, refunds offered), but initial customer service and handover logistics need tightening.
